Abstract: .NET provides the ability for COM and .NET components to communicate almost transparently allowing applications to be developed and extended with COM or .NET. This session shows how to leverage existing COM components in new .NET applications and extend existing applications with new .NET components and how Delphi and other Borland products assist the developer with this process.
Formerly in the Borland UK, Brian Long performed a number of duties including Technical Support on all the programming tools. Since leaving Borland in 1995, Brian has been providing training and consultancy services to the Delphi, C++Builder, Kylix and .NET communities. In addition to authoring a Borland Pascal problem-solving book published in 1994, Brian is a regular columnist in The Delphi Magazine and has had numerous articles published in Developer's Review, Computing, Delphi Developer's Journal and EXE Magazine. He was nominated for the "Spirit of Delphi 2000" award and voted Best Speaker at BorCon 2002.
